September Programs - Registrations Now Open!
1. Y-Nastics (including breakdancing): Start: 9/10
Registrations are now open for our Fall Y-Nastics, our gymnastic programming for those ages 18 months to adulthood. No matter the age or ability, we offer a class that is the right fit for you and your child. Our programming is recreational, and the focus is on building healthy fit bodies and instilling confidence and a sense of achievement for each athlete. Y-Nastics develops each athlete’s strength, flexibility, endurance, power and speed. Our programs teach team building skills in a positive learning environment, giving each athlete a sense of belonging, strengthening their social and communication skills. Y-Nastics offers skills that reach far beyond the classroom which can be utilized throughout athletes’ lives. Ever seen the show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Well now you have the chance to learn how to perform improv comedy like that. Improvisational comedy is for everybody! The greatest thing about improv is that it involves letting your mind wander and being in the moment. Through this class, students will be taught the rules of improv comedy by playing classic improv games as seen on the show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” and learning to trust your fellow performers to create wonderful improvised scenes. This class will conclude with a performance by the students held at the YMCA in order to showcase the wonderful skills they’ve learned!
